FAQs
Which areas require the most dressing aid when putting on a fitted latex top or vest?
The shoulders and armholes. The top must stretch significantly over the widest part of the shoulders and the chest. You must apply a generous amount of silicone dressing aid (lube) or talcum powder to the interior. Concentrate the product on the shoulder seams and the inside of the armholes (and sleeves, if applicable) to minimize friction and prevent tearing.
Should I remove or trim my chest and shoulder hair before wearing a tight latex top/vest?
Yes, close trimming is essential for comfort and ease of dressing. Body hair creates intense friction and drag when pressed tightly by the latex, making the item uncomfortable and difficult to put on/take off. Close trimming or shaving of any area covered by the tight garment is necessary.
What maintenance is needed for the long front zipper, if present, on the top or vest?
Regular silicone oil application is essential, and isolate the metal. The zipper is the most vulnerable point. Regularly apply a small amount of silicone oil (not dressing lube) directly to the zipper teeth. When storing, ensure the metal pull tab is isolated or wrapped with acid-free tissue paper to prevent metal-induced staining of the surrounding latex.
What is the safest way to store a latex top or vest long-term?
Store 100% dry, flat, or hang on a wide hanger. Never fold latex. Ensure the top is completely dry, and store it flat in an opaque box, or hang it on a wide, padded, or plastic hanger (avoid metal hangers) to support the shoulders. Always keep it in an opaque storage bag away from light, heat, and metal.
